Terms of Service
Last updated: 2 October 2026
1. Who provides Trading Diary
Trading Diary (the “Service”) is provided by:
- Legal name: [operator name — to be filled in]
- Registered address: [address — to be filled in]
- Company / trade ID: [ID number — to be filled in]
- VAT ID (if registered): [VAT number — to be filled in]
- Contact: info@trading-diary.co
“We” and “us” below mean that provider. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. What the Service is
Trading Diary is a journal and analytics tool for traders: you log trades, notes and reflections, and the Service shows you statistics about them. It is available as a web application, a desktop application, and an optional cloud sync between them.
It is a record-keeping tool. It is not a broker, it does not place or manage trades, and it does not hold your money.
3. Not financial advice
Nothing in the Service — statistics, scores, charts, AI-generated text, templates or examples — is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Trading carries a risk of loss, including loss of more than you intended. Past results shown in your journal do not predict future results. All trading decisions are yours alone.
Figures are computed from what you enter or import. If that input is wrong or incomplete, so are the figures; check anything important against your broker’s records.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- During early access, accounts are created with an invite code.
- We ask for your country when you register. It decides which taxes apply to you and which consumer rules apply, so give the country you actually live in or are established in. A phone number is optional.
- Keep your sign-in details secret. You are responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you think it has been misused. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication or a passkey on the Account page.
- One account is for one person. Don’t share it or resell access.
5. Plans, prices and billing
The Service is offered as a paid subscription, billed either monthly or yearly. The current prices are shown on the pricing section of our website and again at checkout, before you pay.
- Early access. While the Service is in private early access it is free. We will tell you at least 30 days before any charge applies to your account, and you will not be charged without choosing a plan and a payment method yourself.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (month or year) for the same period, at the price then shown, until you cancel.
- Taxes. Prices are shown including VAT or sales tax where the law requires that for consumers, and otherwise excluding it; checkout shows the final amount. The tax we charge depends on the country you gave us.
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider [provider name — to be filled in]. We never see or store your full card number.
- Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. If you don’t accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails we will try again and let you know. If it stays unpaid, your account becomes read-only, and your data stays available for export for at least 30 days before anything is deleted.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the Account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
14-day refund. If you subscribe for the first time and are not satisfied, tell us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full. Because the Service starts working the moment you subscribe, you ask for it to start immediately; this 14-day refund is our own commitment, in addition to any withdrawal right you have by law.
Outside that window, payments for a period already started are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where we failed to provide the Service. Consumers in the EU, UK and elsewhere keep every right they have under mandatory consumer law; nothing here limits those.
To ask for a refund, email info@trading-diary.co from the address on your account.
7. Your data
- It stays yours. Trades, notes, screenshots, journal entries and everything else you put in remain yours. You give us only the permission needed to store, process and show it back to you in order to run the Service.
- You can leave with it. The “Download my data” button on the Account page exports everything, any time, including after you cancel while your account exists.
- You can delete it. “Delete my account” removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Your content. You are responsible for what you upload. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to, or anything unlawful.
8. Acceptable use
Don’t: attack, overload or probe the Service for weaknesses without our written permission; try to access another person’s account or data; use automation to create accounts or scrape the Service; reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it; or use the Service to break the law. We may suspend an account that does, and will say why where we can.
9. Third-party features
Some features can connect to services you choose yourself, such as an AI provider, a news or market-data source, or MetaTrader 5. Those are governed by their own terms, they only run if you turn them on, and we are not responsible for them.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service running and your data safe, and we back it up regularly, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, particularly during early access. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose; the export button is there for that. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something you rely on in a paid plan, we will give notice and, where it materially reduces what you paid for, a pro-rata refund.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or intentional misconduct.
Subject to that: the Service is provided “as is”; we are not liable for trading losses or lost profits, for decisions you make using the Service, or for indirect or consequential loss; and our total liability to you for anything arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim (or, if you have paid nothing, to EUR 100).
12. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you materially break these terms, or if we stop offering the Service, in which case we will give reasonable notice (at least 30 days unless there is a security or legal reason not to) and a pro-rata refund of any prepaid period we cannot deliver.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of [country of the operator — to be filled in], and its courts have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live and may bring a claim in the courts there. We would rather fix a problem than argue about it: email info@trading-diary.co first.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell account holders by email at least 30 days before the change applies. If you don’t agree to a change, you can cancel before it takes effect. We won’t backdate changes.
